Hello,
Only a little more than a week remains for students to register their
teams (of three or four) for the RBC Next Great Innovator
Challenge. At midnight on
Sunday, Oct. 26th, the door will
close on their chance at $45,000 in prizes. While there is no fee
to register, only registered teams are eligible to submit a final
proposal.
Initially, each team will need to register their intention to submit a
proposal by providing basic information online at
www.nextgreatinnovator.com before the
October
26th deadline. All students
participating will be invited to help select one of the finalist
teams.
Once registered, teams will have until Friday, December 5th, 2008,
to submit a proposal with their innovation, idea or concept for
evaluation by RBC.
What’s New?
To encourage and support the students in the innovation process we’ve
added more resources to the competition website:
ü
Innovation
course – the RBC Applied Innovation team has shared a primer on
innovation including our process and a glimpse into “Innovation in
Action” at RBC
ü
FAQ
Podcast – Join Avi Pollock, Head of our RBC Applied Innovation team,
and Tim Hanlon, the program manager for the Challenge as they answer FAQs
from students
ü
Peer Portal
– Students will want feedback early on to make sure their idea is a
winning innovation… now registered teams can use our optional peer portal
to privately share their idea synopsis out to a list of peers and see
what they think
ü
Collaboration
Space – The Collaboration Space allows each registered team to
securely share documents and manage version control and timelines.
After registration, we'll activate their collaboration space and send
their team lead additional information
ü
Campus
Innovation Centre – The Campus Innovation Centre is a public forum
where schools can post information about their innovations. Each
school’s page allows comments and promotes discussion about your
institution’s role in supporting innovation in
Canada
