About the Competition
SFUs Student Entrepreneurship of the Year 2008 is based on the idea that competition fuels innovation, motivation equals perspiration, and risk provides an even sweeter reward. This event will put the students of Simon Fraser University to the test in a high-stakes environment like no other.

 About the Award
The SFU Student Entrepreneur of the Year Award is intended to be accessible to ALL current SFU student entrepreneurs. The objective of the award is to assist local student entrepreneurs with their ventures while providing the mentorship and resources which will be made possible by access to a Student Venture Incubator. The prizes include the award itself along with the media exposure that comes with winning such a school-wide competition, access to the Student Venture Incubator, and a cash prize $$$!

About the Space
The business office space is located at SFU Surrey and is part of the campus' Venture Connection program that works to encourage and support student entrepreneurship. The incubator consists of services and space out of which the winner will be able to conduct their business, free of charge and for a period of twelve months. Imagine working with several like-minded entrepreneurs from a number of disciplines, sharing strategies and helping each other through challenges specific to entrepreneurs.

Top Five Finalists Notification: November, 10 2008
Deliverables Due: November, 17 2008
Competition Day!: November, 20 2008

Entrepreneurs are risk takers, willing to roll the dice with their money or reputation on the line in support of an idea or enterprise. They willingly assume responsibility for the success or failure of a venture and are answerable for all its facets. Are you up for the challenge?
